I’m a founder. How should I approach you?

We’re here to be helpful and we want to speak to you, it’s never too early to reach out and there’s several ways:

  1. If you have an idea, send us your deck.

We know how precious your time is. We commit to answer all the emails we receive but sometimes there are peaks.

What are our criteria?
  1. Founder/market fit: you have a rare – if not unique – depth of insight into a problem. It might be through education, expertise, or experience, but you understand it intimately in a way that gives you a killer competitive advantage.
  2. Venture-level ambition: venture capital is only meant to fuel certain kinds of entrepreneurial journeys. Ones with massive market opportunities and truly disruptive technologies. 
  3. Early in the journey: you don’t need a product, revenue, or a perfect pitch deck to get in touch: you may still be digging into the details or even employed elsewhere, quietly ideating on the side.As long as you fit the other requirements, it’s never too early to reach out.
What does our process look like?

There are some differences in our investment process, depending on which stage you’re at and if we lead the financing round or not. The below gives you a general idea of the steps we follow.

  • Step 1: Send us your deck – if we think we’re a fit for your business, we’ll set up a call. This first chat (approx. 30 minutes) will include a general intro to your team, the problem you’re tackling and the solution you’re proposing.
  • Step 2: Second meeting (approx. 45 minutes), including detailed GTM (go to market) information, deep dive, live product demo and a meeting with other co-founders. 
  • Step 3: We’ll carry out our pilot partner/customer due diligence and go thorough our GPs call.
  • Step 4: If we’re investing, we’ll finalise terms and present our offer which will be reviewed by our investment committee. 
  • Step 5: After Due Diligence, we’ll review and sign the legal documents, then wire funds. Welcome to Encomenda portfolio! 
What sectors do we invest in?

We are agnostic in terms of sector, even though we do not invest in hardware nor healthcare or life science. 

What type of companies do we invest in?

We provide venture capital investment for the people, ideas and industries that are changing the world for the better. We mainly invest in pre-seed and seed stage.

What value does Encomenda bring onboard?

We work closely with our community of founders, entrepreneurs, leaders and experts from across the full consumer and corporates world, adding value to their businesses. We don’t just invest; we find imaginative ways to enable change. How? By setting up collaborations between the corporates (sometimes our own LPs) and innovators of the consumer and tech industry, supporting startups and creating knowledge sharing and innovation wherever there’s an opportunity.

Where do we invest?

We have a strong focus in Spain, but are open to co-investments with business angels or other seed funds in other geographies.

What are our terms of investment?

Your first round sets the road for future rounds. We are in it for the long run so we believe in fair terms that will make sure that you get there.
